PatchieAU started as a personal mission — two people struggling with sleep apnoea, snoring and restless nights who got tired of settling for products that were not made for them. So we built our own.

The origin story
Two bad sleepers. One big idea.
Ambi and Harshal were not sleep scientists. They were not athletes with sponsorships or wellness influencers with perfect morning routines. They were two people on the Gold Coast who could not sleep properly — snoring, drooling, waking up exhausted, dragging through their days wondering why nothing they tried actually worked.
They had tried everything. Nasal sprays. Sleep strips from overseas brands. Mouth guards that felt like wearing a gumshield to bed. Nothing was designed for them. Nothing felt personal. And nothing came from a brand that actually understood what it felt like to lie awake at 2am next to a partner who had given up and moved to the couch.
"We were not trying to build a business. We were trying to fix our own sleep. The business came when we realised everyone around us had the same problem."
— Ambi & Harshal, Founders of PatchieAU
They started reading about mouth taping and nasal breathing — the science behind why breathing through your nose at night produces deeper, more restorative sleep, why mouth breathing causes snoring and dry mouth, and why so many Australians are walking around oxygen-deprived without knowing it. The research was compelling. The products available in Australia were not.
So they decided to make their own. Not an overnight decision — six months of testing. Different adhesive formulations. Different tape widths. Different materials tested on their own skin night after night, refining until the hold was right, the removal was painless, and the product was something they were genuinely proud to put on their face before bed. PatchieAU was born not in a boardroom but in a bedroom — two people finally sleeping through the night and knowing they had something worth sharing.
The nose tape came later — an organic discovery during morning runs on the Gold Coast. Breathing through your nose during exercise increased endurance, reduced fatigue and improved oxygen delivery to muscles. What started as a sleep solution became a performance tool too. PatchieAU was no longer just about the night. It was about breathing better around the clock.
The founders
Built by people who needed it.

Ambi
Co-Founder · Gold Coast
"I was a snorer and a mouth breather. My partner was suffering. I was suffering. I wanted something that felt premium, worked from night one, and was made for Australians — not shipped from a warehouse in the US."
H
Harshal
Co-Founder · Gold Coast
"Sleep apnoea affects millions of Australians and most of them don't even know it. We wanted to create something accessible — not a medical device, not a prescription — just a simple nightly habit that genuinely changes how you feel in the morning."
The science
Why nasal breathing changes everything.
PatchieAU is not a wellness gimmick. It is backed by peer-reviewed research on nasal breathing, sleep quality, and athletic performance. Nasal breathing produces nitric oxide — a molecule that opens blood vessels, improves oxygen delivery and supports immune function. Mouth breathing does none of this. It dehydrates your airway, triggers snoring, fragments your sleep and leaves you waking up feeling like you never rested at all.
The connection between mouth breathing and poor sleep quality, snoring and sleep apnoea, and nasal breathing and athletic performance is well established in the scientific literature. PatchieAU exists to make that science accessible — one strip at a time.

The journey
How PatchieAU came to life.
1
The problem was personal
Ambi and Harshal were both dealing with sleep apnoea, snoring and poor sleep quality. They read about mouth taping and nasal breathing and decided to try it — but could not find an Australian product that met their standards.
2
6 months of testing
Before a single product went on sale, Ambi and Harshal tested adhesive formulations, tape materials and widths on themselves. Every night. Refining the hold, the comfort and the morning removal until it was right.
3
Patch the gap
The tagline arrived with the brand identity — Patch the Gap. Not just the gap in the market, but the gap between how you sleep and how you could sleep. Between the athlete you are and the one you could become with better recovery.
4
Nose tape joins the range
What started as a sleep solution expanded into athletic performance. Nasal breathing during training on the Gold Coast changed everything — more oxygen, better endurance, faster recovery. The nose tape was the natural next step.
5
10,000+ Australians breathing better
From two people on the Gold Coast who could not sleep, PatchieAU now helps thousands of Australians — snorers, athletes, mouth breathers, beauty routines — wake up feeling genuinely rested every morning.
What we believe
Our philosophy.
Made for Australians
We are not a US import. Our adhesive is formulated for Australian skin and climate. We ship same day from Australia. We are a Gold Coast brand built for this country.
Simple by design
Better sleep should not require a machine, a prescription or a complicated routine. Peel. Place. Sleep. That is it. We believe the simplest solution is usually the best one.
Science backed, people tested
Every product started as something we tested on ourselves. The science told us it would work. Six months of testing told us how to make it work for real people with real skin in real Australian bedrooms.
Backed by a real guarantee
30 nights. If your sleep has not genuinely improved, contact us and we will refund every cent. No forms. No awkward questions. We stand behind every product we make.
Where we are heading
Every Australian deserves to wake up actually rested.
Sleep deprivation costs the Australian economy over $66 billion a year. Mouth breathing is one of the most common and least talked about causes — affecting athletes, parents, shift workers, office workers, children and everyone in between. PatchieAU's mission is to make nasal breathing and mouth taping mainstream in Australia. Not a niche biohack for the wellness elite — a simple nightly habit accessible to every Australian who wants to breathe better, sleep deeper and wake up ready to go.
We are expanding our range, building a community of Australians who take their sleep seriously, and working with dentists, physiotherapists and sleep coaches who refer PatchieAU to their patients. The vision is bigger than a strip of tape. It is a movement around breathing — and it starts with one good night's sleep.
